Home of the Stags
This page is for our SUBC alumni, otherwise known as the Stags. You can find here information about Stags events, our new feature ‘Stag Stories’ and more. If you are a Stag, please fill out the form below us to help us stay in contact with you.
The University of Southampton has been represented on the water by its Boat Club since 1904, and its former oarsmen and women have helped shape it into one of the biggest and most active sports teams to represent the university.
We are looking to continually create and reinforce our relationships with SUBC alumni and embark on significant fundraising projects and events with them in the future to help new cohorts enjoy rowing in the maroon, gold and navy colours that they once did themselves.
Membership is open to anyone that wants to maintain their link with SUBC and its wider network of supporters.
Our Vision
Our vision is to have a community of alumni that promotes and supports the education and development of students of the University of Southampton by encouraging and facilitating the sport of rowing.
We would like to see and encourage former members to maintain connections with each other and SUBC.
Help support SUBC in achieving long term goals
Have former members encourage the development of SUBC members through guidance, skills and financial support.
Fundraising
Our goal is to create community of alumni that promotes and enables the sport of rowing at the University of Southampton and encourages good results from current members. We are currently reforming our fundraising scheme but if you would like to donate to the club in the mean time please contact the club at: boatclub@soton.ac.uk
Networking and Support
Another aim of this program is to build a broad network of SUBC alumni who want to maintain their connection with SUBC and take advantage of the benefits this brings. Former SUBC members work in a broad variety of industries and roles across the country and the world, this means there’s potential for former members to offer advice and guidance to current members, recent graduates or even other alumni. This of course would be a very light role and will be defined rigidly in the future as we connect with more alumni.
There will be more information on this coming soon and if you’d like to express your interest in this initiative please contact the boat club. boatclub@soton.ac.uk
